Wayne Harrison braved a very chilly day on Sunday and had 90lb of carp in 3 .5 hours. A seasoned angler, he read the conditions perfectly and refined his rigs to  a 2.5 lb bottom and small hooks and fished pellet over a very small pot of pellets.  Fish winter hooks and bait and you will be rewarded with plenty of fish. Keep the big hooks, big baits and thicker line for the comming warmer summer season. Don’t forget the vast head of silverfish in the lakes, which can be great sport at the beginning of the season. Size 18 fine hooks and single maggot hook bait fished over a light trickle of loose maggot offerings will have your float constantly disappearing.
